Karyn Richardson

Associate Director of Research

Karyn Richardson is the Associate Director of Research at the Defense Industrial Base Institute (DIBI). Prior to this, she served as a Senior Program Manager at the Kostas Research Institute (KRI) at Northeastern University, ensuring the sound execution of defense-sponsored R&D programs and the advancement of strategic partnerships. She was responsible for a portfolio of basic and applied research programs executed using Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ), Other Transaction Authority (OTA), Cooperative Agreement (CA), and grant vehicles with the Army, Navy, and Air Force totaling over $100M.

Prior to joining Northeastern, she founded and operated a small business providing customized software solutions to DoD and local government agencies.

Fun fact: Karyn likes hiking, running, and spending time with family. Some of the most interesting places she has traveled to are Iceland, Tanzania, and South Africa, which are all truly visually stunning.
