During his forty years working within the maritime industry, Paul has been involved in all aspects of vessel operations and commercial contracting. While working afloat, he sailed as a licensed officer in the deck department on container vessels, tank vessels, drill ships, offshore supply vessels and offshore towing vessels. His shoreside assignments at Foss Maritime Company include P/L management of regional businesses including tanker escort, ship assist, regional towing, line handling and heavy lift cargo transportation projects for upstream oil, gas & mineral extraction clients. Before joining the team at DIBI, he was responsible for managing the ship operations department at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution which oversees the safe operation, maintenance, ship repair, submarine / underwater autonomous vehicle support and the related mission activities of the institution’s three research vessels. WHOI is world renowned for the quality of its vessel operations, which have ably served the oceanographic academic and US Navy communities for over 90 years.
